Ana Simplício, Ph.D. is an Auxiliary researcher and is the head of the Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutical Analysis (PABA) Laboratory of IBET and ITQB since 2004. She is also responsible for the Quality Assurance (QA) of the Analytical Services Unit (ASU) of IBET and ITQB.

She has obtained her degree in Chemical Engineering in 1989 from Instituto Superior Técnico of the Technical University of Lisbon and joined IBET in early 1990. She was responsible for the installation and for the implementation of the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in the Analytical Laboratory of IBET, where she worked as a Study Director until 2000.

In 1997, she acquired her M.Sc. degree in Food Quality Control and Toxicology, from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon.

From 2000 until late 2003, she developed her Ph.D. work in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Trinity College, Dublin, obtaining the Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2004. In that same year, she rejoined IBET and ITQB now as Auxiliary Researcher of the Associated Laboratory of Oeiras (LAO) becoming responsible for the PABA lab and QA of ASU.
